PHILOSOPHY

The Philosophy Program of the High School System of the Government of Mexico City is made up of five courses that offer a comprehensive vision of this field of knowledge to the students who join its Study Plan. The programmatic proposal was built with a logical and methodological vision that harmonizes the study of the history of philosophy with that of the different philosophical disciplines.

The Philosophy Program seeks to inculcate in the student an analytical, critical, reflective attitude that privileges the formulation
of questions about answers, the process of dialogue about dogmatic positions and an attitude of openness and creative search for solutions to the different problems posed by contemporary reality.

COURSES

PHILOSOPHY I

Philosophy I aims to be an immersion course in the rigor, perplexities and wonders of philosophy. This initial course wants to awaken in the student the pleasure for knowledge, for the resolution of problems and paradoxes, for the management of the creative contradiction.

PHILOSOPHY II

This subject has the purpose of carrying out an analysis through the theory of argumentation and its various planes (logical, dialogical, rhetorical and linguistic), thus guiding students through discussions where elements of logic and argumentation, rational order justifications, feelings, desires, even the criticism of fallacies.

PHILOSOPHY III

The purpose of the Philosophy III course is to promote discussion and reflection on the problems of ethics (its foundations and theoretical frameworks) and its link with the different spheres of culture (political, legal, economic, religious, ecological, etc. .), contextualizing it with everyday and concrete situations.

PHILOSOPHY IV

The subject of Philosophy IV, as the last compulsory course of Philosophy, in addition to developing in students the ability to reflect on aesthetic issues and the enjoyment of specific works of art, also promotes the formation of sensitivity to achieve a broad understanding of the historical and social reality in which young people develop. An understanding not only rational, but comprehensive.
